Are you looking for family portrait photography in Shropshire? Family portrait photography, was where it all began for me, isn’t the word “Family” the basis of everyone’s lives. This is exactly why I began my journey within photography.

My Firstborn had grown to nearly four by the time I started to think about photography and why I enjoyed it so much, my second was a newborn.

Portrait photography is important because

The years were flying by, looking back over the four years with my eldest I realised I didn’t have many images of him, and the guilt and sadness hit me, I had no images of me with him, for him to look at as he got older.

At that point I changed my whole life, not just for me but for my children, I started existing in images, I started snapping away like I was the paparazzi.

To the point, I think they now are fed up of it, but in years to come, they will thank me. I realised just how important capturing as much as possible of our families and the people we love was a vital part of everyone’s lives, for the next generations of our families. Their Future.

Family portrait photography shows the changes as your children grow

Since photographing families for 10 years, my work has changed so much, because the passion in me just wants to be able to give more, so families feel comfortable and relaxed to be able to have professional images.

I have the most fun with families, it’s a true pleasure because I get to see the love, and connection between families, Everyone is so different, and I love it. My aim to create natural smiles, and somehow I do it, apparently, I have a way with people.

Outdoor lifestyle portrait photography in Shropshire 

Outdoor sessions are probably my favourite for families, I trained in the art of outdoor photography last year, so I could offer the versatility of outdoors or studio, to give everyone the choice of what they want and feel more comfortable with.

Every Adult has a fear of being in front of the camera, heck I am the same, all your flaws in shot ….. WOW, but does your child see them flaws… NO, in your child eyes and your families eyes you are “YOU”, they don’t care. 

So why should you allow fear to restrict you in not being able to exist in your children’s children’s eyes or their children eye, why should they remember you and see your face, without a snap chat filter … haha, as great as they are, that’s not you.

Why book a professional family portrait photoshoot?

Phones and snapchat are great, I will be the first to admit that I use the filters, but let me paint a vision for you, remember growing up and you and your great Nanna, sitting on the sofa looking through that old album that looked like it would fall apart if you touched it.. Now that is a memory!

Printing photos is important to pass on to future generations

Our generation doesn’t seem to do this anymore, everything is in a cloud or a file but then forgotten about. When family images are printed they are treasure more. The professional images are created, time, effort and experience has been made, which therefore is a memory.

I want my children to show their kids images of me, that they remember that exact moment with me, hence why my camera is always round my neck, which then sparks a story for them to tell their children. Images really do have a purpose.

I guess my passion for getting families in shots, stems from my childhood, and not having the images to look back on, I don’t really have many images to treasure, and I certainly don’t have images of me and my mother together.

I want to make a difference to educate, make people realise the importance. Be with your Family, Be alive, Be remembered !!!!!
